Easi-Set Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Smith Midland (DE), is a full-service product licensing company addressing the needs of the precast concrete industry. Easi-Set works primarily with established manufacturers interested in expanding their customer and business base by adding fully-developed, successful, proprietary precast products. The licensing approach allows these manufacturers to quickly and economically add new products, receive in-your-plant production training & in-the-field sales training, and begin marketing & manufacturing new products within a few short weeks.
The company owns the rights to five unique, separately licensed, product lines developed by its sister organization, Smith-Midland Corporation (VA). Since Easi-Set’s mission, in part, is to provide business diversification opportunities to the precast industry, it continually seeks additional proprietary products which can be added to its current lines. The planned and regular addition of new products coupled with improving and expanding the current lines, provides continuing business growth opportunities for existing & newly licensed producers.
The Easi-Set family of producers enjoys the benefits of reduced costs for advertising, sales literature, engineering and product accessories plus the benefits of shared information among those manufacturing the same product lines. Easi-Set considers its market to be primarily North America and selected countries. Currently, there are over fifty active product licenses located throughout North America and abroad.
Easi-Set’s business potential is directly related to its ability to maintain a leadership position in the precast industry, to add a new product line every three years, and to locate licensees on strategic geographical locations throughout North America. Due to the nature of a licensing company, Easi-Set’s percentage of profitability is very attractive with the potential of continuing to improve as more products are added and more licenses are sold.
