Hensel Phelps to Build Marriott Residence Inn Marriott next to Johns Hopkins

Contractor Hensel Phelps and architectural firm Gensler are teaming up to bring Baltimore, Maryland, its newest hotel. The Marriott Residence Inn Baltimore at Johns Hopkins Medical Campus will be a 15-story, 215,000-SF extended stay Marriott hotel. Located adjacent to the medical campus, its 194 rooms will help to alleviate the accommodation needs for families accompanying patients at the prestigious facility. In addition, the hotel will include retail space, a rooftop restaurant and bar, and a 6,000-SF outdoor terrace.
Smith-Midland has been awarded a contract to manufactured 9,700 square feet of white sandblasted architectural precast panels to wrap the exterior façade of the ground floor lobby, retail and mezzanine public spaces of the complex.
“The $81 million hotel project near the intersection of East Madison and North Wolfe streets in East Baltimore, is part of the overall 88 acre East Baltimore Development plan being overseen by master develop Forest City.
Developers plan complete the hotel in 2017.
