NPCA Newsletter – Cementing Relations with FHWA
January 27, 2017 | Associate / Plant News
NPCA sent a four-person delegation to Washington D.C. Tuesday to continue cultivating its relationship with the Federal Highway Administration after the recent election. Greg Stratis, chairman of the Board; Ashley Smith, chair-elect; Ty Gable, NPCA president; and Rich Krolewski, director of certification and regulatory services, traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with top-level officials from the FHWA.
NPCA has cultivated close relationships with FHWA in recent years which have proved very helpful with issues such as Buy America. The group discussed three key issues with FHWA: partnering with FHWA and DOT personnel to provide training on precast technical issues; AASHTO’s new MASH standards for highway barrier; and plant certification and quality assurance.
